Founded in 2004, Apathy is Boring is a national nonpartisan charitable organization that uses art and technology to educate youth about democracy.
Apathy is Boring’s 2015 federal election campaign reached 670,000 Canadians online, collected 40,720 pledges to vote, and worked with 95 partners and supporting organizations.
In the upcoming year, Apathy is Boring’s work will engage Canadian youth nationwide through its 150 Years Young campaign. Apathy is Boring will be also be developing its new strategic plan in 2017.
The Board of Directors is the legal authority for Apathy is Boring. As a member of the board, a director acts in a position of trust for the community and is responsible for the effective governance of the organization. Our Board is focused on governance and operates in a non-operational capacity.
The Board meets approximately 6 times per year. Board members are expected to attend all board meetings and some committee meetings. All board members are elected for a two-year mandate, which can be renewed. Candidates need not live in Montreal, as meetings can be attended via phone.
Apathy is Boring is looking for two candidates who have experience in one or more of the following fields:
- Finance or business
We are looking for candidates who are innovators and risk-takers, who are strategic, and who will actively participate in the development of our cause and organization. Although experience with governance is an asset, we encourage candidates of all ages, with little or no experience as an administrator, to apply.
