The Aura of Death

I hate to say this, but I think you should know I am a plant killer. My friends call it the aura of death (aka the black thumb). No matter what I do I can not keep a plant alive. I water it, put it in the sun (or the shade), I read books about plants, I even (please don’t tell anyone) sing to them, just to make them happy. The first few days are okay, the plants seem plump and vibrant even, but then slowly they will start to wilt and fade, and no matter what I do eventually they are dead.
This inability to grow or keep plants alive and healthy has somewhat stunted my dream of being able to produce some of my own food. Food sustainability has been a big issue for me for a long time and this year I wanted to do something about it.
So I did the next best thing I joined a CSA. Now, each week, I walk to my community centre and pick up my food basket. Everything is fresh (just harvested, actually), organic, and best of all, it is all grown within 100 km of my home. And the produce is amazing; so far we have received garlic scapes (my new favorite veggie), ground cherries (a Montreal delight), and everything in between.
So if you don't have the time (or the talent) to grow your own food I highly recommend checking out a CSA in your area.
