150!Canada is a new initiative from the Institute for the Public Administration of Canada to imagine, plan and celebrate Canada's sesquicentennial in 2017.

On March 11-12, 2010, IPAC and MASS LBP will convene a major conference at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. We are inviting public servants from all levels of government, business leaders and representatives of leading NGOs, community and arts organizations and Canada's First Nations, Métis and Inuit to discuss preparations for Canada's sesquicentennial year.

The program combines almost two dozen major presentations with a full day of creative workshops.

The presentations include:

The Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin on Citizenship and Celebration,
Peter Aykroyd on the Anniversary Compulsion,
Helen Davies on Learning from the Centennial,
Rita Cox on New Canadian Stories,
Danny Graham on Citizens Leading the Way,
Luci Tremblay on Celebrating Quebec's 400th,

The workshops will include roundtable discussions to brainstorm ideas for the celebration as well as lessons learned from past events (Vancouver Olympics, the 400th anniversary of Quebec City, Canada's centennial birthday.)

Come roll up your sleeves. Immerse yourself in the energy of Canada's next great celebration.

Spotlight: Woodhands

They released an album last month, they know how to rock a dance floor, and we think they're sexy, so we couldn't resist asking them a few questions about democracy.
