Heather Y

I am a person long committed to activism in my community and country. I have fully and joyfully taken advantage of the opportunities for peaceful participation in the democratic life of Canada. As part of this, I have ran for election; I lost - but it was still one of the best educations in political life I ever had. I have worked in community media most of my life, and as a consequence developed excellent and fearless public speaking skills. As well, I enjoy meeting people and believe a "stranger is someone you haven't met yet." I am also a professional editor and author of two books.

I am very "youth positive" and would relish any opportunity to pass on my experience. I believe that by doing so, as well as offering my skills to Apathy is Boring, will achieve this and in this manner contribute to the advancement of civil society.
