Snap-On Sex Ed: silent art-auction to support the Sense Project

Teenage peer educators from Head & Hands host a silent auction that breaks silence and celebrates the Sense Project’s 1st-year anniversary of sex education workshops and youth peer-to-peer health support.

“They’re not thinking of the consequences, as if nothing like a handshake” says sixteen year old Joanna Brenner, Sense peer educator, about fellow students at Traf. “We need to break the silence surrounding sex.” With Head & Hands, Joanna Brenner imagined a way for youth to talk about sex, openly, and creatively, to support a positive shift in the culture of sexual education in schools. Vulva moulds, body paintings, STI songs, decadent cupcakes and textual collages will speak louder than words about the need for Sense Project.

Snap-On Sex Ed, will feature over 20 art pieces by Sense peer educators (14-17 years old), health animators and friends of the project.

Featured artists include:

Chloe Surprenant (painting)
Xavier Tolentino (graphic art)
Jessica Cotton (painting)
Loren March (photography)
Norah Paré (cupcake installation)
And more…

Snap Magazine loft space: 4064 St-Laurent #1
