SinglStyle is collaborating with local and international visual artists to produce a mixed-media exhibit in recognition of World Refugee Day, titled Extraordinary Journeys, June 29 - July 03, 2009 at OFF Interarts 5145 Saint-Laurent; opening night will be the evening of Monday, June 29. The exhibit will run for several days and will feature local Montreal artists, including artworks such as: paintings, poetry, installations. The exhibit will take us through an extraordinary journey through the lens of a photojournalist in Congo, who is now working in Palestine.

Designer Andrew Bacchus states that “The purpose of Extraordinary Journeys is to achieve an awareness of the journeys that a refugee will experience, which can at times be horrific, but at other times, a wonder, and an inspiration to us all. There is no doubt that this recession year of 2009 is a tough time for many, but we cannot allow ourselves to forget the plight of others, even though our own circumstances may make it difficult to do so.”

Montréal, Qc – 16 juin 2009 – SinglStyle collabore avec des artistes visuels locaux et internationaux dans le but de produire une exposition de techniques mixtes intitulée Voyages extraordinaires. L’événement pendra place le 29 et 30 juin ainsi que le2 et 3 juillet 2009 à l’ OFF Interarts situé au 5145 Saint-Laurent . L’exposition est ouverte à tous et mettra en vedette des artistes qui ont produit des oeuvres, des poèmes, des installations, ainsi que des photographies .l’exposition nous amènera à faire l’expérience hors du commun de la vie de refugier a travers la lentille d’un photojournaliste au Congo oeuvrant en Palestine

Selon le graphiste Andrew Bacchus “ Le but de Voyages extraordinaires vise à la sensibilisation des expériences auxquelles un réfugiés peut faire face durant son parcours, qui peut être par moment horrifique, et en d’autres temps une merveille et une inspiration pour nous tous. Il n’y a aucun doute que l’année 2009 représente un temps difficile pour plusieurs d’entre nous mais nous ne pouvons pas nous permettre d’oublier la détresse des autres.”
