First... A Word about Tokenism:

    Youth and Tokenism are two things which do not mix.  At Apathy Is Boring, our aim is to aid and encourage youth to be part of the political process, to exercise and use their voice effectively.  Tokenism is what complicates and damages this process.  In order for youth to be drawn into the political conversation, they must understand that the desire to have them there is not to be a totem, something to be put on display so you can say “look, we represent youth issues, we have a young intern”…

    Thus, to avoid tokenism, please ensure that your motivations for attracting youth to your work are genuine and that the invitation for a partnership comes from a place of reciprocity.  Values to espouse which will attract youth:
