Atlantic Accord

To: Stephen Harper

As Canadian voters from all regions and areas of the country, we are shocked and appalled at the government's attempt to unilaterally break the Atlantic Accord and replace it with a lesser deal for Atlantic Canada.

We support the position of the Progressive Canadian Party as outlined by leader Tracy Parsons which urges the Harper government to realize its mistake and to clearly state once and for all that the terms and conditions of the Atlantic Accord will be fully recognized and the promises made in that agreement will be kept. Further, we urge the government in the name of unity and fairness to extend similar treatment to the government of Saskatchewan which has also been adversely affected by this government's actions.

We regret that we can no longer trust the government's words or actions. As such, we ask you to ensure that a joint statement is signed with the affected Premiers (Williams,McDonald and Calvert respectively) and MP Bill Casey. Given the demonstrated integrity of these gentlemen, Canadians will trust their words and their judgement and will be assured that justice has been done.
