Founded in 2011, the Vegan Environmental Party advocates for animal rights, the environment, and social justice.
 

 
Issue Area Policy
Accountability and Transparency Replace the first-past-the-post electoral system with proportional representation.
Crime and Justice Include gender identity in the Ontario Human Rights Code as a prohibited grounds of discrimination and harassment.
Economy and Employment Create a subsidy and training program to transition workers from animal agriculture to plant-based agriculture or other employment.
Raise the minimum wage to match the cost of living.
Education
Reduce class sizes.
Eliminate post-secondary tuition fees at public colleges and universities.
Improve educational facilities for children with special needs, making services available in their own neighbourhoods.
End the public funding of religious education.
Energy Construct no new nuclear power plants and phase out existing ones.
Environment End all government funding for animal agriculture.
Refocus the Ministry of Natural Resources to protect ecosystems for humans and nonhuman animals alike.
Health Care Emphasize preventative health care and nutritional counselling.
Social Services Raise welfare and Ontario Disability Support Program rates to reflect the cost of living.
Implement an affordable housing subsidy that caps housing costs at 30% of income.
Increase funding for public transportation.
