Quebec Election Kit: Union du Centre Party Platform ‘08
by Apathy is Boring — November 25, 2008
Name: Union du Centre
Official Representative: Diane Jacques
History
L’UDC was founded in 2008 by former liberal cabinet member Robert Dutil. The party was formed with the intention of protecting central Quebec, insisting that tax credits to other regions have had a harmful effect on central Quebec’s economy.
Has been criticized by local media of being “a pressure group dressed up in party clothes” meaning they are technically registered as a party but actually have no public interest besides obtaining the financial benefits of being a registered party.
