"Courage in women is often mistaken for insanity"

If you vote for no other reason this election, vote for women's rights: around 80 years ago women stood together picketing outside the white house for the right to vote and spent the night beaten and jailed. What could have been the mentality men were under to so desperately not want women to vote and have the same rights as them? What would it mean if after all of their hard work we decided we don't want to vote anyway; what would become of our gender?
