Prominent prairie MP plans to bow out of politics
Saskatchewan Tory MP and cabinet minister Carol Skelton has announced she will not run in the next federal election.

In a news release Friday, the 61-year-old minister of national revenue said she wants to quit politics to spend more time with her family.
Skelton was first elected MP for Saskatoon-Rosetown-Biggar in 2000 when she belonged to the Canadian Alliance.
She was re-elected in 2004 and 2006 as a Conservative.
She is one of 12 Conservative MPs from Saskatchewan.
Her announcement comes amid reports that a federal cabinet shuffle may be just weeks away.
Skelton and her husband, Noel, have farmed in the Harris area for 35 years.
