Inspire. Educate. Activate.
Call To Action Montréal 2011
Mark your calendars - Apathy is Boring’s Call To Action Montréal 2011 will be held on Friday, February 11, 2011 at Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business. This event will bring together 200 unengaged youth & young leaders from a diversity of Montreal communities along with non-profit organizations, elected officials, and artists for a day of music and inter-generational dialogue.
Building on the success of Apathy is Boring’s Call to Action days in Montreal 2009, Edmonton 2009, and Halifax 2008, this event will inspire youth to take meaningful action in their communities and inform adults about how they can support these young people in taking action.
Call To Action Montréal 2011 will include workshops with local and national non-profit organizations - Canada World Youth, Equal Voice Experiences Program, Institut du Nouveau Monde, Rights & Democracy, Santropol Roulant, Étincelles média, YWCA, Katimavik,The Big Step-Le Grand Pas; hands on training with Apathy is Boring offering youth the tools they need to get involved; and a youth dialogue where youth will share their challenges, hopes, and Call To Action pledges.
Youth Dialogue presented in collaboration with the Michaëlle Jean Foundation and its co-founders the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean & Jean-Daniel Lafond.
Music will be featured throughout the day including performances by spoken word artist Moe Clark, Montreal DJ/producer Poirier, and Inuit throat singer Sylvia Cloutier.
