DreamCatcher Mentoring (DCM) is an online, not-for profit, career e-mentoring and leadership program that connects northern high school students with Canadian mentors working in their aspired career field. The program empowers Yukon and Nunavut students to realize the rewards of staying in school and pursuing further education and training.

The DCM program is delivered through high schools and is facilitated by both the teacher and DCM staff. Students register through our website and are matched with mentors who best share their career choices, hobbies, and interests.

Once matched, mentors and students communicate entirely through our secured website. All postings are monitored to ensure the safety of both student and mentor.

The most important asset a DCM mentor can bring is a passion for their career, and the desire to share, support, and guide northern youth. Their dedication encourages students to reach their potential and pursue their educational and career goals.

Mentors generally volunteer 15-30 minutes per week, for 8-12 weeks. There are two semesters per year that run from October to January and March until April.

DCM staff provides online resources and support for all e-mentors. We are always available to help make the most of your mentoring experience!
