Calling all youth between 13 and 26!

This is your chance to be part of something big! Whether you want to be published in a national magazine or to be part of the great team that produces each issue; to provoke thought, trigger discussion, and instigate action. No experience is necessary! (And we mean it). All you need is enthusiasm, dedication and a desire to take action!

Youth Action Forum is a national magazine published by and for youth. Forum’s mandate is to be a place for young people to share their thoughts, opinions and experiences with other youth across Canada. Each issue of Forum is geared towards motivating and encouraging youth to educate themselves and be proactive in their communities.

Forum invites youth from across Canada to submit articles, rants, artwork and poetry for our next issue. We are also looking for dedicated members for our Editorial Collective!

Visual arts, music, spoken word, song, dance, theatre, animation, improv...

How are young people using forms of artistic media to get their messages out?

How can art be used as a tool for social change?

Submission Guidelines:
Articles should be between 1000 and 2000 words in length. Rants, opinion pieces and poetry are usually under 1000 words. Authors should include a brief bio. If possible, artwork to accompany the article should be provided.
Submissions should be sent to forum@youthactionnetwork.org as MS Word (DOC) or Rich Text Format (RTF) attachments. Artwork should be sent in either TIFF or JPG format, but we are open to multi-media submissions as well such as video, animation, and music.
Deadline: July 30, 2007

Get involved!
Editorial collective members will meet physically and virtually to brainstorm outreach strategies, pick through content, and review submissions. All experience levels are welcome, and lunch, childcare subsidies, and tokens are available on request. We will be having an Orientation meeting Saturday July 7th, and the first collective meeting will take place the following week.
