Farhiya Hassan

Research Intern

(She/Her)

Born and raised in Ottawa, Farhiya became passionate about all things international affairs and social change during her first-year human rights class. She recently completed her third year at the University of Ottawa studying International Development with a minor in Public Administration. Despite COVID disrupting her social life, Farhiya took the pandemic as an opportunity to explore various subjects that interests her. She’s currently the content creator for Project FLY, an initiative under Enactus uOttawa that focuses on using social entrepreneurship to empower youth.

When she’s not writing essays and working, you can find Farhiya curled up reading romcom and thriller books. She’s also a big sports fan, so you will catch her watching some soccer games with friends and family.

“I am really excited to be a part of the AisB team because we all share a common goal of striving to have youth feel more included in participating in Canada’s democracy”.
