Vancouver RISE Project Coordinator
Born in Malaysia, raised on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Selilwitulh) homelands, Miley is passionate about centering anti-oppressive frameworks in the ways that people and spaces are organized. Her academic, professional, and volunteer work are informed by the intersections of her identity and their entanglements with systems of power. With a degree in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource (OBHR) and Gender, Race, and Social Justice (GRSJ) from UBC, you can often find her thinking a lot about ways to reimagine diversity and inclusion initiatives to center equity, justice, and community. She loves work that live in the intersections of social justice, community engagement and education, and relationship building.
“What excites me about Apathy is Boring is the intentional space the organization holds for youth, especially marginalized youth, to build relationship with community and grow authentically as leaders.”
