Rebecca Klaassen

Toronto RISE Project Coordinator

After being an avid student council member and community organizer during her student years, Rebecca decided to combine this passion for youth engagement with her studies in International Development. She undertook several positions in the field of youth experiential education, working on programs in Central America, East Africa, and the South Pacific. She has since become passionate in making a career out of engaging youth in social justice and community change.

Now based in Toronto to coordinate the RISE program, Rebecca loves applying facilitation, community outreach, and project planning skills to engage youth in their communities and democratic life.

“I love that Apathy is Boring stays committed to its grassroots approach and youth-led leadership. From first being involved as a volunteer, to now working with A is B, I am continually inspired by this passionate team of young people who are dedicated to giving all youth a voice in Canada.”
