Tianna Follwell

Tianna is a passionate youth advocate with a professional background in education research. They hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, in addition to a specialization certificate in Not-for-Profit Leadership and Management, from McMaster University. Tianna is currently completing her Master’s degree in Social Justice Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. Their proposed research earned them a Canadian Graduate Scholarship Award in 2019-2020. Tianna believes that public education plays a critical role in creating equitable opportunities for Black, Indigenous, and low-income youth to succeed. She’s worked and volunteered with a number of education-based organizations, advocacy groups, and youth mentorship programs.
