Currently pursuing a Bachelor in Communication Sciences, 24 year-old Youcef Mansour Le Guerrier is working as Apathy is Boring’s summer intern, tasked with a communication and outreach mandate. After an inspiring hike along the Camino de Santiago (the Compostelle Trail), Youcef applied to become the Montreal-based RISE Ambassador in February 2018. In that role and in partnership with some of his peers, he organized a day of workshops and a celebratory event aimed at building bridges and solidarity among young people. A huge fan of pop culture, Youcef was part of the student jury at the 2018 ZooFest comedy festival—there he realized a childhood dream by interviewing Québec artists. He will soon be off to Hong Kong for 4-month student exchange.
“After an incredible hike in the South of France—infused with inspiring conversations—which culminated with a walk along the Pyrenees, I knew that I wanted to get involved in my community. When I came home, I applied right away for the national Katimavik program, and in the end, Apathy is Boring is the organization that reached out to me. The community-oriented environment I found here, thanks to my work as an ambassador, has been a true revelation for me. Apathy is Boring will, without a doubt, always hold a place close to my heart."
