What is Net-Zero and You(th) ?

We’ve partnered with the Net Zero Advisory Body and Environment and Climate Change Canada to create a new program that supports youth understanding and knowledge about Net-Zero called “Net Zero and You(th).”

As a part of this program we will be offering a free workshop series (2 hour long sessions lasting 3 consecutive weeks). There will be four editions of these workshops, addressing the context of four provinces in Canada: Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia.

Through the Workshops, youth will get to meet other youth who are interested in the intersection on Environment and Democracy, be able to communicate their story effectively and will have the skills to connect with other climate organizations to advance net-zero and different climate strategies to ensure that every person in Canada - and beyond - has access to a healthy environment.

SESSIONS

Week 1 - Planting the Seed : We'll get to know each other, familiarize ourselves with key concepts around net-zero movement, what Canada's goals are and how this relates to democracy.

Week 2 - Rooting Your Place in Stories : We'll reflect on our experiences with storytelling, practice skills in effective storytelling and deep listening.

Week 3 - Growing Your Voice : We'll do activities to practice skills from previous weeks, brainstorm on next steps of action and connect with and learn about other climate organizations.

At the end of the program youth will receive a Certificate of Completion: "Storytelling for Net-Zero".
