Why I joined RISE
I wanted to make fulfilling connections with others. I wanted to be part of a community and have a sense of belonging. Of course, I also joined to be able to communicate freely about my worries with others and also help others in the process. I want to give to my community as much as I can, and by joining RISE, I think I’ll be able to fulfill this.
Why I joined RISE
I’m a final-year McGill student and a new immigrant passionate about creating equitable, inclusive communities. With a background in economics, statistics, and management, I’m driven to use data and collaboration to address systemic challenges. I joined RISE because its values of civic engagement, empathy, and collective action resonate deeply with me. I believe that small, committed actions can create meaningful change, and I’m excited to learn from and contribute to a diverse network of changemakers.
Why I joined RISE
I joined RISE to grow alongside people who are making a difference. With a background in the UN system and philanthropy, I’ve worked on social and environmental sustainability initiatives at both local and national levels. I believe in the power of partnerships and collaboration to move the SDGs forward and strengthen community wellbeing. I am here to share, learn, and spark ideas that inspire meaningful, lasting change in our communities.
A volunteering visit to ONE COMMUNITY PARTNER + an event where community members are invited to come and enjoy a live DJ set along with light snacks and refreshments. This event will also involve 3-5 community organizations speaking about their mission and how party attendees can get involved. Flyers detailing additional information on these community organizations will be distributed.
