Past Projects

A social event that will connect youth in the GTA, who are struggling to access resources to meet their basic needs, to “Guides”, who will share their lived experience to help connect these youths with accessible resources.

Winter Whereabouts is an in-person interactive learning experience, which aims to showcase all of Torontos' affordable, community-based and exciting spots. Community leaders will facilitate placemaking workshops and participants will share their stories in Toronto through our public Google Maps and interactive gallery. This winter wonderland environment encourages people to find a sense of belonging, safety, and acceptance through exploring people's lived experiences in the city.

Weaving Threads presents the stories of Toronto QTBIPOC healing and joy through a multimedia digital zine and an in-person gallery; allowing us to share learnings from others’ journeys and connect young folk with mentors in the city.

This resource takes the form of an interactive map, where students can find information about pricing, proximity to public transportation, and culturally specific food and ingredients. We want to provide newcomer students with a resource that increases access to affordable food to get a little taste of home they’re missing. The FeedYourHeart Map will be published during a launch event on December 9!

The events coordinated by this cohort encourage young people with diverse backgrounds and gender identities to learn how to find mentors, navigate online networking, and create lasting relationships in the professional sphere.

Through storytelling and dialogue, this project is a podcast that will highlight the lack of information, the barriers to accessibility and the lack of representation of QTBIPOC communities in our mainstream healthcare system.

Book Qlub offers a welcoming and inclusive space where youth meet to discuss books by local QTBIPOC authors in an environment where all opinions are respected, new connections are made, and existing ones are strengthened.

Weekly Instagram campaigns around the themes of food, fashion, electronics, and household items share tips and tricks, highlight local change-making initiatives, and invite audiences to participate in a themed challenge. The campaign will culminate in an event that brings together local experts and youth participants to explore lowering waste through practical hands-on workshops.

Through an interactive arts workshop at SKETCH Working Arts, this cohort created artwork on the theme of environmental injustice, and through online submissions we collected additional artwork from youth in the city and showcased it at the 6ixtainable Arts Showcase booth at the Kensington Market Art Fair on May 26th.

Racialized youth are disproportionately affected by the criminal justice system, whether it be through carding, the court system, or incarceration. The first step to making change is sharing, learning and connecting. Come join the conversation.
