Past Projects

This one-day event focuses on allowing drivers, bikers, and pedestrians alike to tell their side of the story and advocate for more accessible transportation in Halifax.

Each story includes a story from a community member relating to housing and a corresponding ‘housing/tenant right fun fact.’ The purpose of the zine is to create community solidarity around tenants and to educate youth on their rights, providing tips for dealing with landlords and housing insecurity.

The Ambassadors want to allow a space for chance connections to form between newcomers and various local communities over two dinner events on December 1 and December 8. Double Dinner Discourse is collaborating with Mary’s African Cuisine, Talay Thai, Hope Blooms and the Mobile Food Market.

This project aims to provide a platform for youth in the Halifax community to explore their own relationship with gender and fashion and be inspired in their own agency to express their version of fashion liberation.

Produced by youth, for a youth audience, this audio journey glimpses into the past, present, and future of various members of our community to discover how notions of gender and race inform one's identity.

Through this project, our team of 5 RISE ambassadors aim to unpack societal expectations around gender by identifying some inequalities that are typically overlooked or normalized in society. We collected self-portraits and reflections to create an online gallery.
